I write music and lyrics and have been for the last five years. They have been powerful, reverent, and special moments at the piano with Jesus flooding me with His presence and pouring His words and melodies abundantly into me.
Well last year for a youth group fundraiser talent show I brought forth one of my original songs and played it for the church. I was super nervous, being up there all by myself with only the piano I could hide behind. (I'm really not a stage person. Rather, I like being behind the scenes ;]) But I felt the Lord really pushing me to bring forth my song that is my theme song I have written and it's my biggest prayer. So I obeyed the Lord and played it. I haven't experienced such an overflowing of God's presence like that. It was the most powerful moment between me and God that I forgot about the audience, and my whole voice even changed. It didn't even sound like mine, it was so clear and sweet.
Anyway, the Holy Spirit really moved through the church in that moment, and the audience was pretty stunned, as was I. My music pastor came up to me after and said that he decided he was going to put together a CD of all the original songs from the composers in church.
He professionally records, and asked if I could honor him in letting him help me professionally record my song.
For the last few months we have been working on recording my song and it has been a powerful and special experience. God has definitely been apart of every detail. We have done what I could never even imagine doing to my song. We have added so many instruments to stringed, to acoustic and it is seriously beautiful sounding! Jesus has been the head Master at the job, giving us spoken words in what to add and what not to. It is seriously a song directed and written by God. I am only His song bird, writing down His words and notes.
My music pastor also told me that he said I could definitely write music for a living if I wanted to, and that also rocked my world. God moves above and beyond. It has always been a far away dream of mine to be able to record and write music for a living. God keeps me speechless. And His power He displays I want to proclaim to the whole world.
I am His servant, and HE is to be glorified.

Two weeks ago we finally finished recording and editing my song and it is super exciting! The only thing that needs to be done is mastering it. And simply that's the final producing of it and sealing it. So praise the Lord! HE is to be glorified through this song!
Why did I tell you this long story? Not so I can boast about what's going on in my life. Seriously, I am nothing without God. I wouldn't be able to write one note for a song on my own. I just don't have that willpower and talent to do it on my own. "You are my LORD; I have NO good apart from YOU." Psalm 16:2 But really, Jesus is the Master Musician and Music Maker. I am only His little song bird, writing down His words and melodies. Wherever He sends me I will go. I am really doing the behind the scenes work for Jesus, because I write, and HE gives words, and HE is glorified.
And guess what? The same God who has done this, has the power to change you too. When we offer up ourselves to Him for His work and His servants He works in mighty ways. Nothing is impossible for Him, and He will be glorified in Your life.
So if you're discouraged, feeling like you're useless, and that you are made of nothing special and only weaknesses I want you to know something: I am living proof that God uses the weak for His glory. You are special, and God can use you in powerful ways for His glory! Whether you see it or not, you are chosen, and called by God to be His beloved servant, and am instrument for His hand to move powerful for His Kingdom.
Really needed to read this today. Thank you! And congratulations--there's nothing more exciting than watching God work firsthand!!
